Description

Students attending the Pacific Northwest Engine Academy will receive training utilizing a variety of methods and techniques, which will provide information about water handling and will improve engine operation skills. These skills are applicable to both fuels management and fire suppression activities. The student will be instructed using ICS terminology. P/NP grading.

Learning outcomes

1. Students will determine the skills necessary to plan and manage complex water handling operations for fuels management and fire suppression operations.
2. Demonstrate skill in complex engine operations and trouble shooting of interagency engines.
3. Demonstrate skill and knowledge of engine preventative maintenance in inspections to better manage the units engine fleet and Strike Team Leader activities.
4. Demonstrate skills in identifying and procedures in dealing with hazardous materials and the non-wildfire emergencies.
