Course Description

This course includes principles of inductance, capacitance, transformer fundamentals, generator fundamentals, electric motors, enclosure grounding, and the National Electrical Code as it applies to these topics. This course will be taught in a lecture/lab format, with labs demonstrating the electrical functions of the various elements.

Course learning outcomes

1. Solve mathematical formulas and equations related to the subject matter of the course.
2. Describe and apply basic theory of electrical sources in AC series and parallel circuits, the point-to-point method for short circuit calculations.
3. Use test equipment to make electrical measurements.
4. Interpret the National Electrical Code requirements as the apply to the subject matter of this course.
