Description

This course includes principles of inductance, capacitance, transformer fundamentals, generator fundamentals, electric motors, enclosure grounding, and the National Electrical Code as it applies to these topics. This course will be taught in a lecture/lab format, with labs demonstrating the electrical functions of the various elements.

Learning outcomes

1. Student will solve mathematical formulas and equations related to the subject matter of the course.
2. Student will describe and apply basic theory of electrical sources in AC series and parallel circuits, the point-to-point method for short circuit calculations.
3. Student will use test equipment to make electrical measurements.
4. Student will interpret the National Electrical Code requirements as the apply to the subject matter of this course.
