Course Description

The course content will include basic electricity, electronics and control instrumentation, fluid mechanics, pumps, power plant piping systems, air compressors, and different types of power plants.

Course learning outcomes

1. Student will perform basic electrical calculations and demonstrate and understanding of basic electricity, electronics and instrumentation.
2. Student will perform centrifugal pump performance calculations and demonstrate an understanding of different types of power plant pumps and piping systems.
3. Student will demonstrate an understanding of different types of air compressors and power plant pneumatic control systems.
4. Student will recognize different types of power plants in the industrial and utility fields through study and field trips.
