Course Description

Explore the social and cultural aspects of various countries including their cuisine, language, music, art, celebrations, and rituals. This serves primarily as a preparatory course for the Cascade Culinary Institute’s Exchange Program. P/NP grading.

Course learning outcomes

1. Demonstrate the proper use of the destination country’s common phrases related to greetings, partings, and manners.
2. Identify and explain the cornerstones and foundations of the destination country’s cuisine.
3. Summarize the culture heritage of the destination country.
4. Identify the global location of the destination country and region.
