Prerequisites

FIRE 100 and FIRE 211.

Description

Training in water handling and engine operation skills, applicable to both fuels management and fire suppression activities. The student will be instructed using ICS terminology. P/NP grading.

Learning outcomes

1. Apply the skills necessary to plan and manage complex water handling operations for fuels management and fire suppression operations.
2. Demonstrate skill in complex engine operations and trouble shooting of interagency engines.
3. Demonstrate skill and knowledge of engine preventative maintenance in inspections to better manage the units engine fleet and Strike Team Leader activities.
4. Demonstrate skills in identifying and procedures in dealing with hazardous materials and the non-wildfire emergencies.
