Course Description
Builds on concepts and principles of MFG Design/Drafting I. Focuses on higher-level operations of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create custom assemblies, produce working drawings, and simulate motion of parts.
Course learning outcomes
1. Maintain a catalog of parametrically modeled parts to be used in assemblies.
2. Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to produce working drawings.
3. Utilize animation features in CAD to create dynamic presentations or Showcase simulations of motion in an assembly.
Content outline
- File management philosophy
- Creating catalogs of parts in CAD software
- Producing drawings for industry
- Showcasing motion in assemblies
- Using motion simulation to highlight collision areas
