Course Description

Performance of wide range of jazz styles in a small-group setting with an emphasis on developing knowledge and skills in improvising. Students should have some previously developed proficiency on an instrument or voice. May be repeated, no limit.

Course learning outcomes

1. Play melody and chords (chord instruments only) for the songs the combo chooses to play for their final exam.
2. Improvise in each of the chosen songs.
3. Work as a group to arrange the intros and outros of said songs.
