Course Description

Teaches fundamental guitar skills in a class format.

Course learning outcomes

1. Students will be able to execute musical works using beginning to intermediate classical and flamenco guitar technique.
2. Students will be able to demonstrate proper right and left hand technique.
3. Students will be able to read tablature, and identify block chords, arpeggiating chords, and scales.
4. Students will be able to recognize the basic components of music theory.
5. Students will be able to find solutions to idiomatic problems.
6. Students will be able to construct basic harmonies on the fretboard.
7. Students will be able to interpret intermediate level music notation.
