Course Description

The course content will include internal combustion engines, lubrication, thermodynamics, heat engines, steam engines, and steam and gas turbines.

Course learning outcomes

1. Student will demonstrate an understanding of the fundamentals of internal combustion engines and lubrication principles.
2. Student will demonstrate an understanding of thermodynamics and the principles of heat engines and the operation of steam engines.
3. Student will demonstrate an understanding of the construction, operation and maintenance of steam turbines.
4. Student will start a steam turbine-generator from cold start and put the unit on line.
