Course Description
Focuses on serving the needs of employees and residents of the community by providing massage therapy in an externship setting. May utilize research topics, case studies, and assessment skills to provide a high level of care to address specific needs. P/NP grading.
Course learning outcomes
1. Utilize SOAP charting and written evaluations when appropriate.
2. Communicate professionally in written and verbal forms within a variety of workplace settings.
3. Assess client pathologies, indications, and contraindications pertaining to diverse populations.
4. Demonstrate techniques within the scope of training and practice commonly recognized in the profession of massage therapy.
5. Analyze case studies, research articles, and peer reviewed journals relative to massage therapy clientele.

- Final paper due week 11.
